At least one person has died after a multi-vehicle crash was reported in Wilson County Sunday afternoon.  The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office posted about a “wreck with injuries” that completely shut down 4225 Hartsville Pike, as well as Spring Creek Road.   The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) confirmed the two-vehicle crash resulted in one death. That person’s identity has yet to be released. In addition, THP said other injuries were being reported. There is no word on the number of people injured or the nature of those injuries at this time.

Union leaders and Hollywood studios reached a tentative agreement Sunday to end a historic screenwriters strike after nearly five months, though no deal is yet in the works for striking actors. The Writers Guild of America announced the deal in a joint statement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the group that represents studios, streaming services and production companies in negotiations.

An investigation is underway after a first responder was injured Sunday morning at the scene of a fire in a Murfreesboro hotel. Murfreesboro Fire Rescue crews responded to the Clarion Inn and Suites just after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24 for a report of a fire in a mechanical room near the pool.  When personnel arrived at the scene, they said there was smoke in the atrium area, but the sprinkler system activated and doused the fire. Then, first responders used fans to clear the smoke from the building.

Saturday was a busy day for fire crews in Lawrence County.  A call came in at approximately 2:30 p.m. when  a 5,000 square-foot structure, approximately 800 gallons of diesel fuel and heavy equipment caught fire.  Next, a field fire that was endangering nearby structures. Then, two hours later a crash involving a commercial vehicle with multiple patients. Authorities reported no serious injuries were sustained in the crash.
