A motorcyclist was killed in a crash around 3:30 Thursday afternoon on Lebanon Pike near Lynnmeade Drive in Donelson. Police believe the motorcyclist, a 40-year-old Nashville man, was traveling east at a high rate of speed when negotiating a curve in the roadway. His Harley Davidson motorcycle left the roadway and went across two driveways before throwing him off. Investigators said the man was taken to Skyline Medical Center where he died. Efforts are underway to notify his family.
Tennessee’s biggest fair is officially underway. Over the span of nine days, 750,000 people are expected to have fun and take advantage of all the Wilson County State Fair has to offer. No weapons are allowed, and every fairgoer has to pass through a metal detector. There are seven entry gates for the fair and Wilson County Sheriff’s Deputies will be stationed at each one. Drones are also banned at the fairgrounds and citations will be issued if you are caught flying one. Also, the clear bag policy is now mandatory; fairgoers are allowed to have a clear plastic up to one gallon freezer bag.

Democrats blasted the bill, saying it’s ironic the party that generally favors ‘small government’ is pushing it.
Zoolumination will be back this holiday season. The country’s largest Chinese lantern festival will return to the Nashville Zoo in November. The event will feature more than 1,000 custom-made silk lanterns. In 2022, a record-breaking 150,000 visited the Nashville Zoo to experience the magic of the festival. This year, guests can also enjoy live entertainment from Chinese acrobats and entertainers who will perform each night at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. A North Pole Village will also be set up with Santa’s workshop and holiday treats from Nov. 24 to Dec. 24.
