Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories have been issued for Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky for Thursday and Friday. It will feel more like 100 to 115 degrees.  There is a marginal risk (1/5) for most of Middle TN, but parts of Southern KY & northeast Middle TN are under a slight risk (2/5) for severe storms.

Millersville police are warning motorists if you drink and drive over the Fourth of July Holiday, you could go to jail.  Lt. Bob Watson, says over the last 23 days, Millersville police officers have arrested 10 DUI suspects in the city and on Interstate 65 which slices through the town.  He says officers have already matched last year’s DUI arrests with 25 so far, and this year is only half over.

A safe haven box where someone can drop off a newborn with no questions asked will soon be installed in the mid-state. It will be  at Hendersonville Fire Department Station Five just off New Shackle Island Road after receiving full support– from the city.  Currently mothers can drop off unharmed newborns within two weeks of birth— at places like hospitals, fire stations, and walk-in-clinics as long as they are staffed 24 hours.  But advocates say the baby boxes provide another layer of security.

Police discover a driver who crashed near the entrance of Target in Clarksville had been shot.  Police say they found out he had been shot after he crashed on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard at around 9:00 last night. The 22-year-old died after being flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.  The investigation is ongoing.

The U.S. Coast Guard says it has likely recovered human remains from the wreckage of the Titan submersible and is bringing the evidence back to the United States. The submersible imploded last week, killing all five people on board. The vessel was on a voyage to see the wreck of the Titanic.
