Two men have been arrested in connection with a motorcycle hit-and-run that left a runner severely injured at the Bell Buckle MoonPie Festival.  The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Michael Lee Grimmett of Christiana and 31-year-old James Nicholas Barrett of Cannon County face numerous charges in the incident.  The victim is at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital. At last check, he was stable.in stable condition.

A Gallatin woman is upset after her 95-year-old mother was reportedly victimized by a con-woman and then assaulted by a manager at the senior care company that hired the alleged thief. Police arrested the manager, 50-year-old Angique Williams, charging her with assault.  An arrest warrant has been issued for, 49-year-old Heaven Conner, who is facing charges of theft over $2,500, fraudulent use of a credit card, and financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

The FBI is investigating a series of suspicious letters sent to a number of Tennessee public officials. Some of the letters contained an unknown powdery substance and laboratory testing is ongoing. So far it has not indicated a risk to public safety. Additional testing will be needed to fully identify the unknown substance in the letters.

Kentucky State Police are on the lookout for three inmates who escaped the Todd County Detention Center yesterday. The inmates left in a truck stolen from a work detail and were last seen headed south.  The three inmates are identified as 19-year-old Donte Lamonte Churchill, 42-year-old  Carl Michael Kinley, and Branden Tate Coffey.

An asteroid roughly the size of the Titanic will pass by Earth tomorrow.  NASA says the asteroid, also known as 467336, is around 840 feet long, while the Titanic measured around 882 feet.  Luckily, we don’t have to worry about the asteroid getting too close to Earth–NASA says its approach will be around 4 million miles away.
