Seeds of Hope: Tour of Gardens, a new fundraising event created by the local nonprofit foundation Martha’s Song, will take place this Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. showcasing many of the unique gardens across Robertson County. Tickets for Seeds of Hope are $25, with free admission for kids 12 and under. All proceeds benefit Martha’s Song Foundation. Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite.
One Generation Away is bringing its Mobile Pantry back to Ashland City for anyone who would like to receive a free load of groceries. They’ll set up in the parking lot of Cheatham Middle School for the drive-thru event this Saturday sharing bags of food with no questions asked, no paperwork needed. The organization will begin giving out food at 8:30 a.m., but folks are encouraged to arrive early, as the food is first come, first served.
Tennesseans are saving lives today. It’s World Blood Donor Day and people across the Volunteer State are rolling up their sleeves for the cause. The American Red Cross recently announced they were short over 26-thousand blood donations last month. The Red Cross has donation sites across Tennessee for anyone who wants to get involved. Officials are releasing the autopsy report for Covenant School shooter Audrey Hale. Medical examiners noted there were no significant levels of alcohol or drugs that are typically abused showed up in toxicology testing. The report describes multiple gunshot wounds that were documented by physicians, classifying the death as a homicide. The autopsy mentions that a white shirt with handwritten words, numbers, and drawings on it was removed from the body.
People are keeping an eye out for a black bear in a Brentwood neighborhood. A homeowner in the Witherspoon area says they captured security video of the bear on their property this past Sunday. TWRA officials say it is likely a young male that has been kicked out by his mother and is looking for a new home. Experts say black bears rarely attack humans, but, anyone who encounters one is warned to never run away or approach it; instead calmly and quietly move away and leave the area. .
