A Portland family is recovering after a fire broke out in their home yesterday afternoon.  Crews responded to the blaze in the one-hundred block of Demase Street after a caller reported four people were trapped inside.  Emergency officials say two teens jumped from a second floor window to escape the flames, and their parents were rescued by firefighters.  The father of the family was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center to be evaluated for smoke inhalation.  He is now in stable condition, according to authorities.  No information on the cause of the fire has been released so far.

Google Fiber is slated to move into Franklin by late next year.  The tech giant has selected the city to be a part of their high-speed internet service expansion.  Mayor Ken Moore says area schools and companies will benefit from the development.  Google Fiber first started in 2011 and is now in over 20 major cities in the U.S.

Tennesseans who hit the road Memorial Day Weekend saw pump prices  more than a dollar cheaper than last year’s holiday. Gas prices, on average, only moved three cents higher over last week .The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $3.18 which is four cents less expensive than one month ago and $1.09 less than one year ago. 

Tickets for the 2023 Wilson County-Tennessee State Fair are going on sale today.  The event’s grand opening is scheduled for August 17th at the fairgrounds in Lebanon.  This year, the fair will celebrate corn as the featured agriculture product.  Details are available at wilson-county-T-N-state-fair-dot-com.

A crowd favorite will be returning to this year’s Great Tennessee Air Show at the Smyrna Airport. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be performing jaw-dropping maneuvers in the sky. The Navy F-35 dual aircraft will also join the lineup with several more civilian acts. The event is expected to draw a crowd of around 50-thousand to the airport, creating a huge economic boost for the area. The air show takes place June 10th and 11th..
