Police in Cheatham County are asking for the public’s help finding a woman who has been missing for almost a week. The family of 25-year-old Chase Stafford says they have not spoken to her since last Tuesday. Police say Stafford was last seen on Wednesday when she was being dropped off in Ashland City on Chapmansboro Road by her boyfriend. Her backpack with her belongings inside was found last week along Highway 49. Stafford’s picture has been posted online and anyone who sees her should call the police as soon as possible.
The Robertson County Senior Citizen Center is hosting a Health and Wellness Fair Thursday. Although the center is geared towards seniors, anyone can stop by. The fair will consist of a number of booths inside the building, consisting of a number of tests and scans for typical health measures, such as diabetes, blood sugar, and height and weight. The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 18 at the senior center, which is located at 601 Locust Street in Springfield, next to the First Presbyterian Church. Once visitors arrive and sign in, they are free to go through and make stops at all of the booths.
The Clarksville City Council has postponed for one month the decision of whether to allow some 200-plus acres of land between Oakland Road and I-24 to be annexed. They wanted a representative to that ward could be named first. The acreage would become part of Clarksville’s Ward 12, which was currently without representation on the council.
A man was injured after his firearm discharged while he was reportedly trying to break up a fight in a Walmart parking lot in Clarksville Sunday night. When police arrived at the scene, they said they made contact with a man who had a grazing gunshot wound on his hand. Officials said the man tried to stop two women who were fighting with each other. However, another person reportedly grabbed the man and a struggle ensued, which caused the male’s gun to discharge and graze him. No additional details have been released about this ongoing investigation.
