The Robertson County Senior Citizen Center is hosting a Health and Wellness Fair next Thursday.  Although the center is geared towards seniors, anyone can stop by. The fair will consist of a number of booths inside the building, consisting of a number of tests and scans for typical health measures, such as diabetes, blood sugar, and height and weight.  The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 18 at the senior center, which is located at 601 Locust Street in Springfield, next to the First Presbyterian Church. Once visitors arrive and sign in, they are free to go through and make stops at all of the booths.

The first of the graduation ceremonies for the class of ’23 is just a week away.  Graduation ceremonies for the Robertson County Virtual School, Phoenix Academy, and the Robertson County Adult High School will be Wednesday, May 17 at 6 p.m., located at Innovation Academy of Robertson County. White House High School will hold their graduation at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 18 at 7 p.m. The graduation ceremony for Springfield High School will take place at their football field. Up to 243 seniors will receive their diplomas on Thursday, May 18 at 7 p.m.

Country music star Jimmie Allen is facing legal action, alleging he sexually assaulted his former manager. The lawsuit filed yesterday by the plaintiff referred to as “Jane Doe” also includes Nashville’s Wide-Open Music and its founder Ash Bowers. The suit alleges in March of 2021, Allen raped her when she was incapacitated and unable to give consent. The plaintiff claims while she only had two glasses of wine during a dinner with Allen and industry executives, she doesn’t remember anything after dinner that evening. Allen denies the allegations.

Check your exercise equipment.  Peloton is recalling two million exercise bikes after dozens of injuries from seat posts breaking.  The bikes have a model number of P-L-0-1 and were sold between January of 2018 and May of 2023.  Owners with affected bikes are asked to immediately stop using the bike and to contact Peloton for a free repair.
