A new document is providing additional details on the plane crash that took the lives of seven members of Brentwood’s Remnant Fellowship Church. The National Transportation Safety Board released a report on their findings surrounding the May, 2021 incident yesterday. Officials say the pilot of the private Cessna plane experienced “spatial disorientation” shortly after taking off from Smyrna Airport and climbing into cloud cover while making a turn. The document claims he did not effectively use the aircraft’s instrumentation, leading to the crash into Percy Priest Lake. Investigators have not found any evidence of mechanical failure or of a medical issue with the pilot.
