Two Tennessee National Guard members are dead after a helicopter crash in Alabama.  Officials have confirmed the duo died during a training flight and added they were the only two people harmed in yesterday’s incident.  Both federal and state authorities are investigating what caused the crash.  The victims’ identities have not yet been released.

A number of schools across Middle Tennessee are closed today as the risk of severe weather continues.  Many county districts including Bedford, Cheatham, Franklin, Maury, and Rutherford are not opening this morning.  Mount Juliet Christian Academy and United Christian Academy are also closed.  Meteorologists say heavy rain, strong wind, hail, and tornadoes are possible through the region into this evening.

State lawmakers are discussing even more consequences for people who hold their phones while they drive. A proposed bill could add points to a driver’s license and if those points add up, the license could be suspended. Tennessee already has the Hands Free law, which currently means paying a ticket if you get caught using a non-hands-free device while driving.

Internet Explorer is no more.  On Tuesday, Microsoft announced the company’s decision to permanently disable the desktop version of Internet Explorer on all devices.  When users attempt to access Explorer, they will be redirected to the Edge browser.  Internet Explorer was originally launched in 1995 as one of the first and most-popular browsers in history.

Wilson County Sheriff’s Office detective is on administrative leave over drunk driving allegations.  The Lebanon Police Department stopped Detective Justin Smith while he was off duty in a county vehicle on February fifth.  Officers say they saw Smith driving recklessly on Lebanon Road and his breath smelled of alcohol during the stop.  They say they found his loaded service weapon and an empty liquor bottle in the vehicle.  He is charged with DUI and possessing a firearm while under the influence.  The sheriff’s office says he remains on leave as they conduct an internal investigation.
