A new bill could help Tennessee’s firefighters who have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.  The bill was introduced in the state legislature earlier this week and would extend workers’ compensation benefits to firefighters suffering with PTSD in the Volunteer State.  There are certain eligibility requirements as only paid firefighters could qualify for benefits.

Tennessee is ranked low in dental health.  That’s according to Wallet-Hub’s list of the “2023 States with the Best and Worst Dental Health” which was released earlier this week.  The Volunteer State ranked in 40th place out of 51, with the District of Columbia included on the list.  Factors like oral health, dental habits and dentists per capita were used to reach the findings.  Wisconsin came top and Mississippi came bottom.

A pair of Tennessee lawmakers are issuing a proposal to rename part of Representative John Lewis Way after former President Trump.  State Senator Frank Niceley and Representative Paul Sherrell are sponsoring a bill that would label two-tenths of a mile of the street President Donald Trump Boulevard.  The section the legislation references runs from James Robertson Parkway to Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.  The bill would also take streets off the list of items shielded through the Tennessee Heritage Protection Act.
