A Clarksville home is a total loss after a weekend fire.  A home on Hattington Drive caught fire after 3 a.m. Sunday.  Investigators used a nearby Ring camera to determine the fire was started by an outdoor string of lights that had an electrical malfunction.  The family was able to evacuate the home safely.

Check your wallets: Holders of hunting and fishing licenses are reminded that licenses no longer expire at the end of February, as in the past, but expire on the date they were issued in 2022.  Licenses can be purchased or renewed at most outdoors outlets or online at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s website, tnwildlife.org.  Other than the change in the renewal date process, all other license rules and requirements remain in place

Effective tomorrow, all veterans experiencing a suicidal crisis will be able to receive free care.  The VA says all veterans can go to any VA or non-VA health care facility and receive treatment at no cost.  The program will include up to 30 days of inpatient or crisis residential care and up to 90 days of outpatient care.  Veterans will be eligible regardless of their VA enrollment status.

Sky gazers are beginning to get a look an object not seen from Earth for over 50-thousand years.  A green comet is showing up in the night sky over the next few weeks.  Kayla Waugaman with the Carnegie Science Center says the green hue the object puts off is caused by certain compounds reacting with light and radiation as it nears the sun.  The object will make its closest approach to the Earth on February first and second.
