The Stokes Brown Public Library is hosting computer classes on Wednesdays at 1 p.m., and Thursdays at 6 p.m. Thursday classes will be a repeat of the previous day’s courses, allowing those that work during the day a chance to attend.   The classes will begin with basic computer knowledge, with the potential to move into more complex subjects.  Along with being offered for free, preregistration is not needed to take part in these courses. Any interested students can just show up at the allotted times. Any updates or changes regarding class times will be posted on the library’s Facebook page and website

Robertson Countians looking to claim a stake at the lake should head down I-24. The Nashville Boat Show has returned to Music City.  It runs through Sunday and features all kinds of watercraft, safety information, entertainment and other activities.  It’s been two years since the show has been held and thousands are expected to attend.  It’s being held at Music City Center.                  

Electric vehicle drivers will soon be able to ask Amazon’s Alexa where they can find a charging station.  The online retail giant announced at the Consumer Electronic Show  it’s teaming with EVGo.  It’s one of the largest U.S. charging networks, which Alexa will use to help navigate drivers to the next closest public charging spot.  Alexa will even be able to pay for the charge with voice commands if the driver heads to a EVGo station.  The new feature is expected to roll out later this year.

Two Tennessee lawmakers are sponsoring a bill that would increase funding to teachers for school supplies.  Senator Joey Hensley and Representative Scott Cepicky have introduced the legislation.  The joint measure calls for k through 12 educators to receive five-hundred dollars per year to purchase items for their classrooms, up from the current amount of two-hundred.  A New York Times survey shows, nationally, teachers are spending around eight-hundred-20 dollars this school year on supplemental classroom supplies.
