It’s going to be a wet day in Tennessee.  People across the Volunteer state are waking up to rainfall this morning which is expected to continue for large parts of the day.  Weather forecasts suggest west, middle and east Tennessee will all be impacted by the conditions today.  Tennesseans may get breaks in the coming days but the rain is expected to hang around through the end of the weekend.

The Tennessee Department of Labor is looking into reports of missing paychecks at a Clarksville Urgent Care.  WSMV-TV reports a woman recently left Advanced Care Medical after not receiving wages for three pay periods.  Office Manager Brittany Carter says she is among the 30 to 40 workers who have not received compensation.  Advanced Care Medical is owned by a firm called Health Care Solutions.  They operate facilities in Chattanooga and Columbia in addition to Clarksville.

Authorities in Cheatham County are searching for the suspects responsible for burning a farmer’s barn.  Greg Balthrop says someone intentionally fired multiple rounds from a flare gun into his Thomasville Road building last Friday, burning 50-thousand-dollars-worth of hay he had produced for customers who have already paid him.  The farmer says a neighbor’s doorbell camera captured an older model white truck pull onto the property prior to the blaze.  Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office.

The Wilson County School Board is voting to ban two books from high school libraries.  Members passed a proposal to remove novels entitled “Tricks” and “Jack of Hearts” during their meeting on Monday.  The education panel says the books deal with prostitution, drugs, and sexual exploration, and are not appropriate for students.  Both titles had previously been on the district’s mature reading list, meaning they required approval from parents before being checked out by a student.
