The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says a man is dead after an unprovoked attack on his mother yesterday.  Deputies responded to a home along Grafton Road just before 10:30 a.m. on reports of the domestic assault.  Authorities say the adult son, Brandon Pulley, was found unresponsive by arriving first responders, and his mother had injuries to the head and back after being struck with some type of weapon.  Officials say Pulley’s father attempted to restrain him in order to protect his wife.  Details on the nature of the man’s death have not yet been released.

Electric vehicle drivers in Tennessee could see a sharp increase in registration fees.  Governor Bill Lee is considering raising the cost of EV registration to 300-dollars to help support a highway extension plan.  An explanation for the increase is that gas-powered vehicle drivers pay taxes which help road maintenance every time they fill up their tanks.  The increase to 300-bucks would allegedly level the playing field in tax-based financial contributions to help Tennessee’s roadways.

Tennessee is feeling the effects of a nasty flu season.  The CDC has the Volunteer State listed in its very high category which is its most severe.  Walgreen’s Flu Index had Tennessee as the second-worst state in the country for flu activity at the end of last week.  Health officials are encouraging Tennesseans to get their flu shots to help protect themselves and their loved ones during the holiday season.

Clarksville police say a truck belonging to a missing man is now recovered, with a body found inside.  Authorities say divers with a company out of southern Illinois located Jason Spencer’s Dodge Ram pickup near the McGregor Park Boat Ramp around 1:00 p.m. yesterday.  Officials with the medical examiner’s office are working to identify the remains.  Spencer was reported missing by his son on November 14th.
