Police in Clarksville say one person is dead following an early Sunday morning shooting. Officers responded to the scene outside the N’Quire Bar and Lounge on North Riverside Drive just before 2:00 a.m. Authorities report the injured individual was taken by helicopter to a Nashville hospital where they later died. No suspects have been identified in the case. Anyone with additional information on the shooting is asked to contact the Clarksville Police Department.
On Dec. 10, the City of Millersville is having an Ugly Sweater Christmas Parade, complete with an ugly sweater contest and followed with a movie and popcorn at the Millersville Community Center. Beginning at 1:00 that afternoon Louisville Highway will be shut down from Pole Hill Road to Long Dr. for the parade.
Triple A is urging Middle Tennessee residents to keep their live Christmas trees safe this holiday season. The travel club says trees should be watered regularly to reduce the risk of fire, and should be placed at least three feet away from any source of heat. They also recommend making sure lights are turned off when leaving the house or going to bed. Triple A officials say around 44 percent of live Christmas tree buyers admit to doing something unsafe in relation to their holiday decorations.

Also, the monthly Medicare Part B premiums are declining next year, to $164.90/month from $170.10/month, which will also modestly boost Social Security checks for those enrolled in Part B, as these premiums are automatically deducted.
