It’s the last day of early voting in Tennessee.  Registered voters in the Volunteer State who haven’t voted by the end of today will have to wait until Election Day on Tuesday to cast their ballot.  Information about polling places, ballot measures, opening times and other voting resources can be found online on the Tennessee Secretary of State Website.

More than a third of Tennessee lacks maternity care resources.  That’s according to a report done by non-profit organization March of Dimes.  The report classifies over 30 counties in the Volunteer State as so-called “maternity care deserts.”  That means mothers must travel out-of-county in those areas to receive appropriate care.  The full report can be found on the March of Dimes’ website.

Tennesseans will gain an hour of sleep on Sunday with the end of Daylight Saving Time.  They’ll turn their clocks back an hour before heading to bed Saturday night.  Most of the country uses Daylight Saving Time.  Tennessee will spring forward an hour on Sunday, March 13th of next year.

Authorities in Cheatham County say a car dealership and several classic cars are damaged following an early Wednesday morning crime spree.  Investigators say 28-year-old Nathan Wasson stole a work truck in southern Kentucky before driving to Pleasant View, and through the Doug’s Auto Sales building around 1:30 a.m.  He is accused of then driving a vintage blue Camaro through a door at the property, and stealing another Camaro, leading police on a chase into Robertson County, briefly escaping.  Wasson is now facing a list of charges after a Robertson County homeowner was able to detain him until officers arrived.

If you’re looking for a job UPS is holding a hiring event at their Nashville facility this weekend.  Called “Brown Friday”, the employment open house is planned from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday and 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the shipping hub on Whites Creek Pike.  The company is looking for warehouse workers and driver helpers.  They are also seeking applicants willing to deliver packages in their personal vehicles.
