The Robertson County Economic Development Board is hosting the 5th annual Spirits, Smoke & Soil: Experience Robertson County event from 9-4 tomorrow.  The event is held every year on the second Saturday of September and is a free county-wide event with unique stops in all 11 municipalities in Robertson County.  A digital map will guide guests to experience the smoking barns of the fall, the spirit of the Bell Witch, the county’s historic whiskey industry and the soil that feeds its agriculture roots.

Robertson Countian and others across the state are  mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth.  Flags across the state have been ordered to fly at half-staff today in honor of the longest-serving British monarch who died yesterday at the Scottish estate of Balmoral.  Senators Blackburn and Hagerty both took to Twitter to send their condolences and celebrate the life of the 96-year-old who passed away surrounded by loved ones.  Her reign of over 70 years is succeeded by her eldest son who is no known as King Charles the Third.

Tennessee is set to receive millions of dollars after electric cigarette company Juul made a settlement in court.  The company agreed to pay four-hundred-and-forty-million-dollars to 33 states after their advertising was shown to be targeted toward teenagers.  The settlement was made on Tuesday in court with thirteen-million dollars expected to come to The Volunteer State.

Police in Mt. Juliet are investigating after a vehicle crashed into Rutland Elementary School Thursday morning. Wilson County School officials say it happened before the start of the day at the building on South Rutland Road. There were no students inside of the building at the time. The condition of the driver is unknown as the investigation continues.

Auditions are now being accepted for singers to perform The Star-Spangled Banner and God Bless America at the TransPerfect Music City Bowl on New Year’s Eve. Five finalists will be announced later this month and will perform live at the Amazon Voice of the Bowl finale in October.
