A Robertson County teacher is accused of exposing himself to students.  Court records show John Nolan Keathly is indicted on multiple counts involving the performance of sexual acts on himself inside a Greenbrier Middle School classroom where he was working.  The complaint also alleges that, on some occasions, Keathly engaged in the acts with the intention of a minor witnessing it.  The school district says he has been suspended without pay during the investigation.

The Tennessee Supreme Court announced their pick for Attorney General yesterday. The Court has selected Jonathan Skrmetti of Memphis to become the 28th A-G in Tennessee history. Skrmetti is currently the chief legal counsel for Governor Bill Lee, and previously served as the state’s top deputy attorney general. The Tennessean reports Skrmetti is expected to begin his new role on September First.

Three Nashville area men have been charged in the July 8 firearms robbery of the Greenbrier Guns and Leather store.  Federal prosecutors say that 22-year-old Tyler Cunningham, 26-year-old Ryan Dillard, and 23-year-old Corey Summers burglarized an automotive repair shop in Middle Tennessee and stole a truck to use in the burglary of the guns store.  The three men are charged with conspiracy to steal firearms from a federal firearms licensee

The American Association of State Troopers is once again hosting their Best-Looking Cruiser Calendar Contest. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is joining the majority of state police and patrol agencies across the country in participating.  Voters can choose their favorite police vehicle, with the top 13 finishers featured in next year’s calendar.  Voting runs through August 25th at state-troopers-dot-org.

The Cross Plains police and fire departments will be hosting their first-ever Community Safety Day on Saturday, August 20th from 10 am to 2 pm at Kilgore Park.  If you need more information, Call the City in Cross Plains.

A portion of Interstate 40 is closed in Nashville after a truck carrying frozen chicken overturned late Wednesday night. The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes near the I-40/24 split near exit 211.

Less than 900,000 registered voters cast a ballot in Tennessee’s primary elections last week.Davidson County recorded one of the lowest voter turnout rates in the state. Tennessee’s Aug. 4 primary election motivated less than 20% of the state’s registered voters to cast a ballot, according to unofficial voting numbers provided by the Secretary of State’s office.
