Fuel prices in the U.S. are again hitting record high numbers. GasBuddy reports the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded topped out at four dollars and 53 cents per gallon yesterday.   Triple A reports yesterday’s average in Davidson County was over four dollars and 31 cents.  Costs for diesel also reached an all-time high, coming in at five dollars and 56 cents per gallon.

The Tennessee Valley Authority is building a solar pavilion at Sycamore High School in Cheatham County.  The TVA says the project is part of a three-million-dollar initiative focused on advancing technology and clean energy.  The pavilion will serve as the basis for a solar energy career and technology program at the school.  Officials say construction will begin in August.

The Robertson County School Board unanimously approved a proposed general funds budget for the 2022-23 school year.  Among the details of the proposal include pay increases for all certified and classified staff, including teachers and administrators.  The board hopes that these salary increases will help in making Robertson County Schools a more attractive place for potential teachers in the future.  There was an increase in electricity, water, and sewer funds to help pay yhe bills, as well as extra money for reimbursement for the Reserve Officer Training Corps program.

The annual Kilgore Station Bluegrass Festival returns for its 10th year in Cross Plains this Friday and Saturday at Kilgore Park. Sponsored by the Cross Plains Community Chamber, the annual event, which first started in 2013, has now grown to include the Dan Kelly Junior Fiddle Contest along with an authentic barn dance.  More information on the festival is online at kilgorestation.com.

The City of Springfield’s Freedom Fest, presented by Grace Baptist Church, will take place on Sunday, July 3rd at the Robertson County Fairgrounds. This family-friendly event is free and the fairgrounds will open at 3 p.m. with music beginning at 3:45 p.m. Seating will be available inside the arena. You’re welcome to bring chairs and blankets.  The free concert will include performances by Grammy-nominated gospel band High Road, local artists, and the The Oak Ridge Boys.  The evening will conclude with the city’s largest fireworks display beginning at 9:00 p.m.  Free parking is available at the fairgrounds, Legion Park, and J. Travis Price Park.
