The Tennessee Department of Health is out with its weekly COVID-19 update.  TDH says there were over 310 cases per day between April 10th and the 16th.  There have been over two-million-23-thousand COVID cases in Tennessee since the outbreak began.  Over 26-thousand people have died from COVID-related problems.

Springfield residents are invited to take part in the city’s second annual Spring Community Cleanup this Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon at various locations throughout town. It all got started last year as part of Springfield’s mission to reduce litter, promote responsible handling of waste, and to keep the city beautiful. Last year, the cleanup welcomed nearly 100 volunteers who picked up more than 5,900 pounds of waste.  Participants will meet at Springfield City Hall, 405 North Main Street, to sign-in and collect their supplies before going to their assigned areas. Tennessee lottery officials are releasing more information about a winning Mega Millions ticket sold last week.  They say the 20-million-dollar winner was sold at a Citgo Food Mart in Pegram.  The Cheatham County convenience store’s owner is set to receive a 50-thousand-dollar bonus for selling the ticket.  So far no one has claimed the jackpot.

Former Robertson County Mayor Howard Bradley was named as a winner of the 30th annual Sage Awards, presented by AgeWell Middle Tennessee.  The award honors lifelong leaders who improve our communities and significantly impact the lives of older adults across the region.  The awards will be presented on Monday, Oct. 3 during the Sage Awards Ceremony & Fundraiser at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, 700 Cool Springs Blvd., in Franklin.

A former basketball coach at West Creek Middle School in Clarksville has been indicted on a theft charge. 27-year-old Julius Colemon is accused of misappropriating school funds collected for new team apparel in 2020.  Colemon’s arraignment is scheduled for May 9
