The Springfield Board of Mayor and Alderman have changed the retirement programs of city employees.  They are moving from the City’s 457b deferred compensation program to the State of Tennessee’s administered program, and the state’s 401k program.  The City’s current Voya plan would stay in place for retirees who already have accounts. To make the transition, the city would freeze those contributions so employees could no longer make any further additions to those accounts and map those funds over to a new account with the State of Tennessee.

Two rezoning requests in the Cedar Hill area have been approved by the Robertson County Commission to preserve more rural farmland.  Two acres of land on Stroud Road, just south of Interstate 24 in the 7th voting district and 1.85 acres on Buzzard Creek Road in Cedar Hill were re-zoned from Agricultural-Residential to Rural Preservation.

Nashville Zoo officials are asking for help to keep tabs on some crafty peacocks.  Two of the birds were discovered four miles from the Nolensville Pike facility yesterday at the Ellington Agricultural Center on Hogan Road in South Nashville.  Public Relations Director Jim Bartoo says the zoo has owned eleven peacocks since August and they occasionally venture outside the grounds.  Bartoo says you should feel free to contact the zoo if they spot any potentially fugitive fowl.
