Roadways and riverbanks in Sumner County are a little cleaner after a trash collection effort over the weekend.  TDOT officials say hundreds of volunteers participated in their “Nobody Trashes Tennessee” litter collection event.  Several more clean-up efforts are scheduled across the state this spring.  For more information or to volunteer visit nobody-trashes-Tennessee-dot-com.

A country music star and Franklin Police Department officer is being mourned.  Jeff Carson died of a heart attack on Saturday.  The chart-topping country star left music to join FPD in 2009.  Carson had 14 charted Billboard singles and won Video of the Year from the Academy of Country Music during his career.  In 2019, Carson returned to music to recut “God Save The World.”

Police in Clarksville is on the lookout for a man who has several warrants out against him. They say 23-year-old Jaquez Taylor was involved in an altercation on March 20th that resulted in a 24-year-old woman being shot in the neck and abdomen. Authorities said her injuries were non-life-threatening and she was treated and released from the hospital.

The Robertson County Players’ production of 12 Angry Jurors will continue its run at 7 p.m. this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Springfield Middle School’s Historic Auditorium.  The story was initially broadcast as a television play in 1954 under the title 12 Angry Men and was later adapted for the stage.  For more information about the production, go to robertsoncountyplayers.org.
