New state law requires licensed Tennessee beauty professionals to complete up to one hour of free anti-domestic violence training either in person or online.  The course the state board is using for this training is known as “Know More,” an informative and interactive class aimed to meet the anti-domestic violence training requirement. This free training which began on Feb.7  is being held at UT Extension Robertson County, 408 North Main Street in Springfield.  A time for the next class will be offered at a later date.

The Tennessee Department of Health is out with its weekly COVID-19 update.  TDH says there were nearly 17-hundred cases per day last week.  There were also an average of over 70 COVID-related deaths per day between February 20th and the 26th.  There have been over two-million COVID cases in Tennessee since the outbreak began.

The Tennessee State Capitol building remains lit up in the colors of Ukraine’s flag.  The Capitol was first lit blue and yellow on Tuesday night.  Governor Bill Lee tweeted a video of the Capitol in the Ukrainian national colors last night.  Governor Lee says it’s meant to show Tennessee’s support for the Ukrainian people as they fight back against Russia’s invasion.

Lebanon police are warning drivers of potential traffic delays due to  Washington, DC.  Middle Tennessee truckers are expected to join the convoy as it heads to the nation’s capital to protest COVID mandates.  The convoy is expected to stop at the Wilson County Fairgrounds late this afternoon where the truckers will spend the night.  Police say the convoy is expected to reach the Sparta Pike exit on I-40 around 3 o’clock.

Police in Clarksville is releasing more information about a deadly shooting Tuesday night in front of a Walmart on Fort Campbell Boulevard.  42-year-old Christopher Clark was arrested for shooting 55-year-old William Eakes Junior, who died at the hospital.  The motive for the shooting is unknown as the investigation continues.
