A new date for a sentencing hearing has been set for April 8 involving the criminal case of Clifton Horn, a former East Robertson volleyball coach charged with 67 counts of sexual exploitation involving secretly videotaping his former players in a locker room.  A hearing was originally scheduled for Jan. 31 but has since been rescheduled after Horn’s attorney Peter Strianse requested a continuance in the case.

Tennessee lawmakers are considering legalizing medical marijuana.  Four bills to legalize medical cannabis beyond the point-nine-percent THC that is currently allowed in the state were filed over the weekend.  Two more bills that have been submitted would fully legalize medical marijuana and allow for growing, cultivating, and selling marijuana plants.  It’s still early in the process as all of the bills would have to make it through committees. 

Dozens of soldiers are back home in Tennessee after a ten-month-long Middle East deployment.  Nearly 200 of the Tennessee National Guard’s First Battalion, 181st Field Artillery Regiment arrived back home this past week, while more than 100 others arrived at the headquarters in Chattanooga Saturday.  The unit’s been stateside the past two weeks at Fort Bliss, Texas.  The group was part of Iron Force Valor with operations in six different countries in the Middle East.

A pedestrian is dead after an accident in Clarksville.  Police say the victim was hit by a vehicle on Kennedy Lane close to a Travelodge around 7:00 yesterday evening.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Investigators are looking into the incident.

A Mount Juliet man is in custody after barricading himself inside his home.  Police say they responded to the house on Cypress Glen Drive around 2:30 a.m. Sunday to investigate a domestic disturbance.  Officers claim they witnessed the 39-year-old suspect pull a woman inside the home when they arrived.  Crisis negotiators were able to convince the man to surrender without further incident around 4:15 a.m.
