The Robertson County deputy found murdered called 911 about her accused killed days before she died.  Deputy Savanna Puckett suffered multiple gunshot wounds before she was found in her burning Springfield home on Sunday night.  Just four days earlier, Deputy Puckett told a 911 dispatcher her ex-boyfriend James Conn was an “unwanted guest” who pulled into her driveway.  Conn is charged with arson and first-degree murder.

The Tennessee Department of Health is out with its weekly COVID-19 update.  TDH says there were nearly 17-thousand cases per day last week.  There were also an average of 65 COVID-related deaths per day between January 16th and the 22nd.  There have been over one-million-771-thousand COVID cases in Tennessee since the outbreak began.

The leader of a Clarksville church is being charged with rape and statutory rape.  Larry J. Rayford, Jr. was booked into the Montgomery County Jail yesterday.  Court records show the victims were 15 and 13-years-old at the time of the alleged crimes in August of 2020.  The 43-year-old lead pastor of The Ship Ministries was tracked down and arrested in Michigan late last month.

Tennessee first lady Maria Lee is carrying out the wishes of a late Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper who was on her security detail when he died.  During one of the last conversations between the two, Trooper Aaron Rumford said he wanted to use the points he accumulated on his Chick-fil-A app to give to the homeless.  Lee gave out food at City Road Chapel and two homeless encampments near downtown Nashville yesterday.  Rumford was killed in a motorcycle crash last September.

Redistricting plans are on their way to Governor Bill Lee for approval.  The plans were made by the Republican supermajority with Democrats saying they cut current House members out of the districts where they live.
