The TBI is investigating the apparent shooting death of a Robertson County Sheriff’s Office deputy. Deputy Savanna Puckett was found shot inside her burning Springfield home last night by another deputy after Puckett failed to report for her shift. Deputy Puckett was 22-years-old and had been with RCSO for four years. RCSO says “Words cannot express the sadness and grief that Savanna’s family and her Sheriff’s Office family are facing right now.”
The Tennessee Department of Transportation is expected to begin pothole repairs this week. TDOT says back-to-back winter storms this month have created a lot of potholes along interstates and state highways. Cold-mix asphalt will be used until permanent repairs can be made in the spring and summer. TDOT says it will use all available staff to patch the potholes.
A man that was wanted for aggravated assault charges is now in custody. 18-year-old Rateeq “Tiki” Cameron was charged on October 10th of last year, in an aggravated assault that sent a victim to the hospital. On Saturday, just after 4:15 pm, Clarksville police located Cameron and took him into custody without any issues.
A man is in jail after attacking two Murfreesboro Police officers with a box cutter Friday. Twenty-One-Year-Old Justin Gordon is being held in Rutherford County on two attempted murder charges. Gordon is accused of slashing the officers who arrived at the Hawthorne Park South Apartments after he threatened to kill himself. The two officers were treated for cuts and released from a local hospital Saturday.
Several people were injured and at least one person was shot near the Waffle House on Fort Campbell Boulevard early Sunday morning. Police said that one person had two gunshot wounds and was flown to a Nashville hospital. That victim is in critical but stable condition. Two other people either drove themselves or were taken to Clarksville area hospitals. Several shell casings were left at the scene.
