Roberton County parents with newborns are advised of a nationwide recall for an infant formula sold to customers nationwide. On Monday, the FDA announced that Angel Formula, made by Michigan-based Moor Herbs, does not meet specific nutrition requirements and contains higher than recommended iron, sodium, and potassium levels. The recall affects all 16-ounce bottles of Angel Formula dating back to February 2019. Parents who have purchased this product should discontinue use and contact Moor Herbs for information on a refund.
With so much focus being put on COVID-19 and the omicron variant, the flu is still gripping the area. The most recent data from the Walgreens Flu Index shows Nashville coming in at seventh on the list of major cities across the U.S. in terms of flu cases. The current uptick in flu cases is due to more travel over the recent holidays. Nationwide, flu cases are up 600-percent since January 1st.
Tennessee lawmakers say they are looking at re-evaluating the process authorities use to issue Amber Alerts. Officials said yesterday that the kidnapping of three-year-old Noah Clare had led several legislators to call for reviewing how alerts are issued. Clare was kidnapped by his father in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, while heading towards Gallatin last November, but it took law enforcement ten days to issue an Amber Alert. State Rep Johnny Garrett said he met with Clare’s family yesterday about potential changes, and more discussions are planned in the future.
