Gov. Bill Lee announced projects receiving funding through the second round of the Governor’s Investment in Vocational Education (GIVE) program which prioritizes learning opportunities in rural counties and enhances career and technical education statewide. Robertson County Schools Career-Technical Education program has been given funding for training opportunities in advanced manufacturing and robotics, office technology, and information technology. These programs will be made available to Robertson County Schools students through dual enrollment opportunities and to adult learners through TCAT-Nashville.
TDOT is treating roads in some parts of the state that got snow. Some areas got several inches of snow early yesterday morning. TDOT says it had crews on standby overnight to treat roads that saw freezing. Officials say most of the main roads are dry.
Robertson County schools remain largely unaffected but Several Middle Tennessee school districts are being impacted by weather. The National Weather Service has issued a special statement warning drivers that black ice could form on streets. Some schools are closed and others are opening late due to the road conditions. Wilson County Schools are on a two-hour delay, Rutherford County Schools will open an hour late and Clay County and Bedford County schools are closed.
Many Americans looking to move to a new state are selecting Tennessee. The 2021 National Mover Study released by United Van Lines determined that Tennessee ranks 7th as a relocation destination. The study indicates 62-percent of moves in the state are inbound. Knoxville and Nashville rank in the top 25 cities targeted for relocation.
