The Robertson County Historical Society is trying something new this year with their always popular Christmas Tour of Homes event. Organizers say many businesses in historic downtown Springfield have had a challenging year so the Christmas Tour will focus on the businesses downtown and showcase the building’s history. The annual event is set for Sunday, December 12th.
The White House Board of Mayor and Alderman are considering an ordinance that would allow the development of zoning standards for campgrounds. It came up after somebody approached the city with a proposal to build an RV park and campground on a piece of property on Union Road on the west side of the city. Among the concerns, the board raised was the allowance for a sports track to be built on a proposed campsite that could potentially cause noise pollution for White House residents.
There are nearly 22-hundred new coronavirus cases in Tennessee. The Tennessee Department of Health reported the new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to over one-million-318-thousand. More than 20 additional COVID-19-related deaths were also reported, with the total number standing at over 17-thousand. There are nearly 850 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Tennessee.
If you have a student heading off to UT, the COVID-19 mask and vaccine requirements are being lifted there. Chancellor Donde Plowman said the decision was the result of a preliminary order preventing the federal government from enforcing an executive order on federal contractors in Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Lifting the requirements puts the school in line with state law.
Questions about a military flyover before a Tennessee Titans game at Nissan Stadium are growing. Some fans sitting in the stadium’s upper deck say they were eye-to-eye with helicopters from the 101st Airborne Division during the pregame flyover on November 14th. The Army Times reported yesterday The 101st Airborne Division is joining the Federal Aviation Administration in investigating the flyover. The pilots are based at Fort Campbell.
