FedEx is projecting a record number of shipments as Robertson Countiams shopped online during Cyber Monday.  The Memphis-based shipping giant says it expects to see a ten-percent increase over last year.  Experts say the increase was anticipated with shopping at traditional brick-and-mortar stores down on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.  FedEx says it’s expecting the U.S. domestic market will hit 100-million packages per day next year, with e-commerce accounting for 88 percent of total market growth.

High school graduation rates are down in Tennessee.  New data from the Department of Education shows about 89 percent of seniors graduated on time last school year.  That’s a decrease of nearly one percent from the year before.  State education leaders are blaming the drop on learning loss caused by COVID-19.  Education Commissioner Penny Schwinn says she’s confident graduation rates will rise again.

A 30-foot Christmas tree is glowing outside the Tennessee State Capitol.  A tree-lighting ceremony was held at the Capitol last night in Nashville.  The tree was donated by a Murfreesboro couple.  The 129th Army Band jazz ensemble and the Belmont University BSA gospel choir performed at the event.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation kicks off the holidays with Christmas on the Cumberland. Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and his family officially light 1,000,000 Christmas lights, a holiday tradition in Clarksville. The lights will be on display thru January 2nd, Monday – Thursday until 10:00 pm, and weekend nights ’til 11:00 pm.
