More than 50 high school students in Clarksville are suspended over a viral video.  The West Creek High School students were suspended on Friday after a video showing them raising their hands or phones as simulated weapons posted to TikTok.  It posted on the social media app last Thursday evening and got nearly 500-thousand likes before its creator made it private.  The video followed the “Who Want Smoke” challenge.

Today is expected to be one of the busiest travel days of the year.  Triple-A says over one-million Tennesseans are expected to travel to their Thanksgiving destinations by car today or tomorrow before returning over the weekend.  Tennesseans will pay a premium at the pump to travel with the price of gas averaging a dollar-25 more than this time last year.  Triple-A Tennessee says both demand and the price of crude oil are higher than they were last year.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol wants to prevent a repeat of last year’s Thanksgiving holiday travel.  THP says there were more than 20 accidents along I-40 across the state the day before Thanksgiving last year.  This year, THP will be working with other law enforcement agencies on the Tennessee Safe Travel Challenge initiative.  The challenge is planned for tomorrow and Sunday, November 28th.

There are over 14-hundred new coronavirus cases in Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Health reported the new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to over one-million-308-thousand.  Over 50 additional COVID-19-related deaths were also reported, with the total number standing at nearly 17-thousand.  There are over 700 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Tennessee.

A big “don’t” for Robertson County air travelers is bringing a loaded gun with you on the plane.  Security at Nashville International seized a loaded 45 caliber weapon in a passenger’s carry-on bag over the weekend.  The passenger was removed and the weapon taken.  The TSA says there have been more than 140 guns recovered at Nashville International this year.
