Daylight Saving Time ended Sunday with 19 states including Tennessee,  hoping to make Daylight Saving Time their standard time.  Legislatures in those states have passed resolutions or enacted legislation to provide for year-round Daylight Saving Time.  But before that could happen, Congress would have to allow the change and, in some cases surrounding states would have to enact all-year Daylight Saving Time legislation.

Governor Bill Lee is extending a controversial executive order.  On Friday, Governor Lee extended an order allowing parents to opt students out of school COVID-19 mask requirements.  The extension means the order will be in place until November 19th.  Federal judges have blocked the order from applying in three counties.

A Tennessee native is no longer a boxing champion.  Ashland City’s Caleb Plant lost his IFB super-middleweight title to boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas on Saturday night.  Plant was stopped in the eleventh round by technical knockout.  Alvarez is now the undisputed super-middleweight champion.

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System is one of many struggling with a shortage of bus drivers. School Officials say CMCSS is operating with only about 70% of its transportation workforce. The district needs about 100 more drivers to return to 100% capacity in transportation. If you want to be a bus driver, starting pay is$16.27 an hour. Applicants must have or obtain a CDL-Class B License, be 25 years old, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. To find out more and how to apply, visit the school district’s website.
