Republican State Senator Kerry Roberts of Springfield, says the government is overreaching in its authority when it comes to mandates concerning COVID-19, and he’s hoping a special legislative session could bring some relief to Tennessee residents. Among other things, Robersts wants to prohibit mask mandates in all public buildings, schools and universities  and have any executive orders issued during a State of Emergency that last over 90 days, be reviewed by the Joint Committee for Government Operations. The Tennessee Value Added Assessment System scores for the 2020-2021 school year were released by the Tennessee Department of Education earlier this month. 11 Robertson County Schools earned a score of five and two more scoring a four in school composite scores. The scores represent expected growth, with lower numbers reflecting less than expected, and higher ones showing more than expected. (source Robertson Connection)

There are over 47-hundred new coronavirus cases in Tennessee.  The Tennessee Department of Health reported the new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to nearly one-million-200-thousand.  Nearly 100 additional COVID-19-related deaths were also reported, with the total number standing at close to  14-thousand-700.  There are nearly 32-hundred COVID-19 hospitalizations in Tennessee.  (Source Tennessee Department of Health)

Voting is underway for Tennessee’s next license plate design.  The state is required to update the standard design every eight years and this one will be available in January of next year.  Residents have until just before midnight Monday to cast their vote.  The four choices and a ballot can be found at TN-dot-gov-slash-governor-slash-rate-the-plates.
