Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center will dedicate the Gold Star Family Memorial Saturday morning at 11:00. This Memorial will be placed at the Orange Heart Memorial and the main entrance of Springfield Memorial Gardens. The program will include several guests, the Robertson County JROTC will present the colors, and the Robertson County Honor Guard will play “Taps” and present the rifle salute.
Springfield Police are investigating after human remains were found in a wooded area between Tom Austin Highway and William Batson Blvd in Springfield Tuesday morning. The remains were found while search teams were looking for a missing person. They were sent to the State of Tennessee Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.
A Pleasant View man has ben indicted on multiple child sex counts. 40-year-old Jody Taylor of Pleasant View faces 35 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Robertson County Deputies arrested Taylor and booked him into the Robertson County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
The Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board is approving a temporary mask requirement. The mask mandate approved last night is for all students and employees. Masks will be required inside all district buildings when social distancing isn’t possible. The policy goes into effect on Monday and will be revisited by the school board each month.
A Mt. Juliet pastor says he’s been permanently banned from Twitter. During a live Facebook video yesterday, Global Vision Bible Church Pastor Greg Locke [[ Lock ]] said the lawyer for his ministry has filed a class-action lawsuit against Twitter. Locke says he’s been banned as a “danger” for posting what he called “gospel, political, and biblical bombs” over 12 years on the social media platform. Locke called Twitter “censorship Nazis.”
The annual “Autumn in the Brier” event will be held on Sat. Sept 25th from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Greenbrier Historical Society Museum & Library grounds across from Greenbrier City Hall. The fall event is free to attend and features historical demonstrations, a Bake Sale, Book Sale, Silent Auction, BBQ, Hamburgers, Hot dogs, and vendor booths.
