The 2021 Robertson County Fair will run today through Thursday from 5-10pm, Fridayfrom 5-11pm and Saturday from 3pm- 11pm. There are carnival rides, vendors, fun food, agriculture, a lip-sync contest, and Faith Night presented by the Fair Association at the Century Stage Arena and the annual demolition derby.

A family movie night is planned to benefit Waverly flood victims.  The free family movie night this Friday will show Pixar’s “Up” with proceeds going directly to helping victims of the devastating flooding last month.  The movie will start at 8 p.m. outside in the Crossroads Chiropractic parking lot.  There will be food trucks arriving at 6:30 and they will donate at least 25-percent of their proceeds to the victims.  Those who plan to attend should bring blankets or lawn chairs.

The Ellis Family Foundation of Tennessee recently announced Cassie Gardner as the recipient of the 2021 Jerome P. Ellis Memorial Scholarship. A 2021 graduate of White House Heritage High School, Gardner achieved an overall grade point average of 4.0 and a track record of community service, volunteering within her church and community. Established in 2018, the Jerome P. Ellis Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of a lifetime educator for Robertson County Schools by helping students pursue an education in the field he loved so much.

The source of a loud “boom” that was reported in Clarksville is not yet known.  Clarksville police say dispatchers received numerous calls about what was reported as a loud explosion late Saturday night.  The boom reportedly shook the ground.  However, no damage or injuries have been reported. 

Tennessee continues to set record COVID-19 hospitalization numbers. The latest data from the Tennessee Department of Health reveals that there are now 3,597 COVID patients hospitalized across the state. Of those, 1,020 are in ICUs and 699 are on ventilators. 74 of those hospitalized are children, which is down from 83 pediatric patients from the middle of last week
