A preliminary plan to build more than 400 homes has been approved in White House. Jackson Farm is the name submitted on the preliminary master plan for the development on just under 140 acres off both sides of Bill Moss Road and just east of Interstate 65. The project is approved for 428 single-family lots that would average around 7,500-square-feet . Upgrades to Bill Moss, Calista and Volunteer roads and intersections are included in the plans.
There are over 94-hundred new coronavirus cases in Tennessee. The Tennessee Department of Health reported the new cases yesterday, bringing the total since the outbreak began to over one-million-61-thousand. Over 30 additional COVID-19-related deaths were also reported, with the total number standing at over 13-thousand-500. There are over 33-hundred COVID-19 hospitalizations in Tennessee.
Data released by the State Department of Health appears to show that masks worn in schools help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Statistics reveal that those school districts which do not allow parents to opt-out of their kids wearing masks in school have the lowest rates of child COVID infections in the state. Data reported earlier this week shows that Metro Nashville and Shelby County have the lowest COVID-19 case rates among children 18 years old and younger. Despite the governor’s anti-mask mandate, Nashville and Shelby County schools have kept their mask requirements in place.
Police agencies across Tennessee say officers will be more visible this holiday. Cops are stepping up patrols for the Labor Day weekend. The Booze It and Lose It campaign is underway and focuses on reducing the number of drivers under the influence. The Booze It and Lose It program works with the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. In 2019, 451 people were killed in Labor Day crashes nationwide with 38-percent involving drunk drivers.
