The Tennessee Housing Development Agency says it’s not too late to apply for help with rent and utilities for anyone behind because of COVID-19.  The THDA says it can help people catch up on back rent, utilities and even future rent and the assistance does not have to be paid back.  Rutherford, Davidson, Shelby and Knox County’s need to apply separately but that information is all available at THDA-dot-org.

The 2021 Kilgore Station Bluegrass Festival has events across two days, Friday & Saturday August 27-28 in Cross Plains. The Tennessee Department of Health is reporting a rise in COVID-19 vaccinations.  TDH says over 109-thousand vaccinations have been given since August 8th.  Nearly six-million vaccinations have been administered statewide.  The percentage of Tennesseans with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine is close to 47 percent, while the percentage of fully vaccinated people in the state is just over 40 percent.

A 17th Tennessean is being charged for his alleged role in the breach of the U.S. Capitol Building.  Ronald Colton McAbee was arrested yesterday on eight federal charges connected to January’s riot.  The charges against the Unionville man include entering a restricted area with a deadly weapon and engaging in violence on capitol grounds.  McAbee is among seven people charged with assaulting DC police officers who were stationed at the front of the Capitol Building during the riot.

If you’re traveling from Robertson County to the Pilgrimage Festival in Franklin you’ll need proof of COVID-19 status before they’ll let you in.  Organizers of the Festival say safety for their guests, vendors and musicians is the top priority.  The festival will require proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative COVID test taken within 48 hours prior to entry.  The Pilgrimage Festival will be held on September 25th and 26th in Franklin.
