The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office says a suspect wanted for allegedly targeting vehicles in the Robertson County area has been captured driving a stolen vehicle in Georgia. Detectives say the crime spree  of 26-year-old Lazarus Hibbett of Cross Plains included several vehicle burglaries and vehicle theft and shoplifting. Hibbett is charged with ten separate crimes in Robertson County and will be brought back to Tennessee to face the charges.

There’s good news for a Mid-State city in the TBI’s annual Crime in Tennessee report.  The report shows Clarksville’s crime rate last year was the lowest in the state for any city with more than 100-thousand people.  The city’s major crime rate has mostly remained below ten-thousand crimes per 100-thousand people since 2010.  The annual report was released on Monday.

A Code Orange air quality alert is being issued for parts of the Mid-State.  The Metro Public Health Department says sensitive groups should limit their time outside today.  Health officials say those in the sensitive group include people with lung disease, those with asthma and the elderly.

The bust of a Confederate general at the state Capitol Building is expected to be removed this week.  Governor Bill Lee’s office has called a news conference for tomorrow morning ahead of a vote by the Building Commission.  The bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest is expected to be moved to the Tennessee State Museum following the vote.  The remains of the early leader of the Ku Klux Klan and his wife were also recently removed from a Memphis park formerly named in his honor.

Pet e-commerce company Chewy is establishing a new facility in Wilson County.  Company officials announced a new regional e-commerce fulfillment center will open in Mt. Juliet in the fall of 2022.  The move will create 12-hundred new jobs.  Chewy offers pet products, supplies and prescriptions by delivery. The company also has an active online presence.
