Some  $3000 worth of playground equipment, children’s toys, balls, and a pallet of 8” molded plastic border timber that was yet to be installed is missing from the playground from a Millersville school. Police say it was stolen time over the weekend. Detectives are hoping someone in the area witnessed something that will lead them to the stolen property and to whoever stole it. Give the Millersville PD a call if have any information.

The Tennessee Department of Health is updating the state’s coronavirus numbers.  TDH said yesterday there have been more than 866-thousand-700 cases of COVID-19 in the state since the outbreak began.  The state says there have been 12-thousand-550 COVID-19 related deaths in Tennessee.  The numbers reported yesterday were from Friday.

Tennessee’s senior senator is asking the CDC to end the mask mandate on public transportation for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.  Marsha Blackburn is one of six Republican senators supporting a resolution requesting that the CDC update its guidance for mask wearing in confined spaces.  They’re requesting the mandate be lifted on public transportation throughout the U.S., including airports, commercial planes, buses and rail systems.  Blackburn says she’s calling on the CDC to follow the science.

As nearly one million Tennesseans get ready travel this holiday weekend the Department of Transportation says it will suspend all construction-related lane closures.  Beginning at 6:00 Friday morning through 6:00 Tuesday morning lane closures on interstate and state routes will be suspended.  It is expected to be one of the highest July 4th travel volume periods on record.  Over 47 million Americans are expected to travel over the holiday with 91-percent driving to their destination.  So be careful out there, hang up buckle up, and slow down.

Warm temperatures are forecast all week long and the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency is reminding pet owners keep their furry friends safe.  Some tips include always having fresh water when they’re outside, never leaving animals alone in a parked car and when temperatures are high keep pets off the hot pavement.  More information is available at Ready-dot-gov-slash-animals.
