The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation has awarded a $500,000 parks and recreation grant to the City of White House for the expansion of the W.L. Anderson Sports Complex on Old Highway 31. The money will fund installation of a new Americans with Disabilities Act compliant parking area, pavilion, and pathways to and from them.

 A Dickson County man convicted of killing his five-year-old autistic son faces life in prison when he’s sentenced in September.  Joseph Daniels was found guilty on Saturday of felony murder and second-degree murder in the death of Joe Clyde Daniels.  Joseph Daniels faced five charges, including first-degree premeditate murder, aggravated child abuse, initiating a false report and tampering with evidence.  Joe Clyde disappeared from his family’s home in early April of 2018, however, his body has not been found..

Clarksville police are asking for help finding a missing teen.  CPD says 17-year-old Daisha Thompson was last seen by her mother on Tuesday night, June 8th.  CPD says it had contact with Thompson in the early morning of June 9th, but she wasn’t truthful about her age and had not yet been reported missing.  Thompson is Black, five-foot-five, 110 pounds with brown eyes, black hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and dark-colored pants when officers saw her.

The world’s largest Protestant denomination will hold its annual meeting this week at the Music City Center.  The 2021 Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting will be held tomorrow and Wednesday.  Last year’s meeting was COVID cancelled.  President and CEO of the SBC Executive Committee Ronnie Floyd says the meeting is a time for Southern Baptists to come together and celebrate how God is moving through its convention and churches.
