The Better Business Bureau says a new scam that’s circulating. The would-be thief calls residents to tell them their Electric bill is overdue, and their power is about to be cut off unless the resident pays immediately with a credit or debit card. The Better Business Bureau and local electric utilities say they never uses high-pressure tactics over the phone. Customers will always be alerted to an overdue bill by mail. Anyone who receives such a phone call to contact the electric company instead.
After being COVID Cancelled last year, Springfield’s 1st Friday Night Market is back June 4th. The free event, hosted by the Historic Springfield in partnership with the City of Springfield’s Parks and Recreation Department, will kick off at 6 p.m. and run through 9 p.m. The June market is the first of 2021, as the event with nearly 60 vendors will continue through September, on the first Friday night monthly.

The state’s largest all-inclusive park is now open. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at Triple Creek Park in Gallatin today marked the opening of Miracle Park for kids of all ages and abilities. In addition to a ball field, playground and zipline there is a pedal park and swings that can accommodate wheelchairs.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is launching a program called Tennessee Kid Kits. The Kid Kits are a resource to help parents document details about their children in case of an emergency. Police say in the case of missing children every second counts and having detailed information on hand will help authorities move quickly. It helps parents as well because it’s easy to be overcome with emotion and forget important details when your child is missing.
