A traffic advisory; The City of Adams advises motorists of two railroad crossing closures. The South Commerce St and the South Adams St railroad crossings are closed through Wednesday due to CSX maintenance.

A Tennessee man  is facing charges for allegedly aiming a laser pointer at an MNPD helicopter.  Shannon Cole is charged with assault and reckless endangerment after being arrested on Saturday night.  The pilot was as much as one-thousand feet above I-24, assisting officers with the street racing initiative near Bridgeway Circle when the laser was pointed at the helicopter.  Police say Cole was holding a military-grade laser when they found him.

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 45 in Greenbrier will be hosting their annual drive-through Poppy distribution on National Poppy day, Friday, May 28th, from 8 am- 1 pm at the Greenbrier American Legion Post. Learn the history of how the poppy became the symbol of remembrance for veterans. This will be an interactive non-contact drive-through or if the weather is nice, feel free to park and walkthrough.

Authorities across the state are ramping up enforcement of the Click It or Ticket seat belt campaign ahead of the Memorial Day Weekend.  Law enforcement statewide is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to ensure drivers and their passengers are wearing their seat belts.  More than 400 people who weren’t wearing their seat belts were killed in accidents in Tennessee last year.  That’s 33 percent of the state’s total traffic deaths in 2020.

The Robertson County Fair will be held from Tuesday, Sept. 7 to Saturday, Sept. 11 at the fairgrounds on US-41 in Springfield. Gates will open every evening at 5:00 and close at 10 p.m. However, the rides will be open as long as there are people there to ride them.
