The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office announced the creation of a new Juvenile Service Division. It will provide additional resources to Robertson County children with programs to reduce juvenile offenses and increase school safety and security. The Juvenile Service Division will consist of the current School Resource Officer Division and a Juvenile Outreach Division. Sheriff Michael Van Dyke will also create a Juvenile Task Force that will be comprised of area law enforcement agencies

Robertson County Runners should be aware of this:  A 5K race benefiting the nonprofit Our Kids is returning to Nashville next month as an in-person race.  The 7th annual JE Dunn Hammer Down Race will be held on Saturday, May 15th.  The race will start at 7:30 in the morning at JE Dunn Hermitage Avenue, near Lea Avenue.  Our Kids is a Nashville organization that provides medical evaluations and counseling for children and families who have experienced child sexual abuse.

A Montgomery County church is applying the parable of Jesus feeding five-thousand people to using thousands of dollars to pay off millions in medical debt.  Working with RIP Medical Debt, Clarksville’s Madison Street UMC raised 24-thousand dollars  to clear over two-million dollars in medical bills in Tennessee and Mississippi.  Church leaders said they didn’t want people to have to decide between feeding their families and paying bills during what they called “the biggest medical crisis of our lifetime.”

President Biden is approving Tennessee’s request for a major disaster declaration.  Governor Bill Lee sent the request following severe winter storms from February 11th to February 19th that impacted Bedford, Fentress, Shelby and at least ten other Tennessee counties.  Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty also signed the letter to the President asking for federal relief aid.  Biden approved the request yesterday.

If you don’t have your tickets for Banoaroo, you’re out of luck.  It’s sold out.  Just three weeks after the lineup for the show was revealed, organizers announced yesterday the event has sold all of its tickets.  This year’s event is the 20th anniversary of the festival after last year’s show was canceled over coronavirus concerns.  The 2021 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is scheduled for September 2nd through the 5th on “The Farm” in Manchester.
